About Neill

From Police Beat
to Digital Product Creator

An unusual journey into online marketing started in 1999, still going, and considerably wiser about what actually works.

My Unusual Journey

Hi, I'm Neill MacKenzie, a retired British Army and Police officer turned full-time internet marketer, digital product creator, and lifelong experimenter with what works online (and what definitely doesn't).

I've spent the last two and a half decades riding the ups and downs of the digital marketing world, from earning a surprising £16,000 working part-time during festive seasons with a simple "Letter from Santa" website, to launching profitable info products, to diving headfirst into email funnels, affiliate marketing, and now AI-powered tools.

What started as a hobby alongside the day job has become my full-time focus in retirement. But here's what I want you to know up front:

I'm not a "hustle and grind" kind of guy. I'm not glued to social media. And I'm definitely not chasing Lambos or fake guru status. What I am passionate about is building simple, effective online systems that actually works - and being honest about the ones that don't.

I'm a young-at-heart 70 year old, semi-retired, with the time freedom to focus on what I genuinely enjoy: the creative side of building and testing digital products. I have two daughters, five grandchildren, and a wife who sensibly prefers to stay out of the spotlight. I avoid perfectionism (still working on that one) and firmly believe in shipping fast and improving later.

A Few Career Highlights

1999–2010

The Santa Site

Built a "Letter from Santa" website selling personalised letters via a simple form. Ran it part-time during every festive season and generated over £16,000 across the decades which proved for me, early on, that a simple idea executed well beats a complicated one executed badly.

2010s

Niche Blogs & Affiliate Income

Built niche content sites generating passive income. Using my experience as a police crime prevention officer to promote wireless burglar alarms. There, I learned the patience required for SEO and the fragility of depending on a single traffic source.

2015 onwards

WarriorPlus Launches

Multiple info product launches on WarriorPlus, several hitting four figures in sales. Developed a reputation in the space for plain-speaking, practical products without income-claim hype - and for over-the-shoulder video training that shows the process, not just the result.

Now

AI-Powered Digital Tools

Building a focused suite of AI tools under the IMActionSheets brand, each one scoped to do a single job well, with explicit guardrails against hallucination and invented claims. Current products include the Affiliate Angle Generator, the Niche Intelligence Suite, and the forthcoming Coach's Intelligence Suite.

What I Actually Believe

Not the polished mission-statement version. The practical version.

🚢

Ship fast, improve later

Waiting for perfect means waiting forever. Get it out, see how people use it, make it better.

🛡️

Guardrails, not guesswork

Every tool I build is constrained to work only from what the user provides. No invented claims, ever.

🎯

One job, done well

Feature-bloated tools that do everything tend to do nothing particularly well. Scope is a feature.

🤝

Honest marketing

No income claims I can't back up. No artificial urgency. No bonuses that exist only to inflate a price.

Neill MacKenzie in a traditional British pub

A traditional British pub is the natural habitat of anyone who's spent time in the Army or the Police.

The Socialite

Not everything is about marketing funnels and conversion rates. Some of the best thinking happens away from the desk, and in Britain, that usually means the pub.

The British pub is one of the great institutions of social life, a place where rank, status, and income don't matter much, where conversation flows freely, and where you quickly learn what people actually think rather than what they're supposed to think. Twenty years in the Army and Police taught me to listen in those environments. I still do.

If you've visited the UK, you'll know exactly what I mean. If you haven't then it's one more reason to book the trip.

Not just another marketer but a trained educator too.

I hold a Level 3 Certificate in Delivering Learning from the City & Guilds of London Institute. That means I don't just know the material, I know how to teach it clearly, practically, and in a way that gets results for people starting from scratch. Every product I build reflects that.
